19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.
Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from spring of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters at once, so to get a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive play style and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.
Moutet saved 4 early-game break points in a close deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after a lengthy match.
